Sunday Night Chillaxin

Sunday night...yep. I am super restless to teach tomorrow, and so i've decided to wisely spend my time looking at myspace pages and look at new music on amazon. by the way, the soundtrack for the last kiss looks killer. it's by the same guy that did the garden state soundtrack. i'm getting kind of tired of the same old stuff on my ipod. no radio stations really come in here, so when i was out shopping today in merced, i milked a pop radio station and enjoyed some terribly bad, but kickin tunage. i am totally ready for tomorrow though, so i'm not procrastinating, amazingly. i went to the methodist church this morning in mariposa (40 minutes away). long drive, but it was the first actual service that i'd been to since i left nc. i think i was the only one in the congregation in the age range of 20 to 40. it was one of the most welcoming congregations. they definitely weren't going to let me slip in and slip out. right off in the service, it was "it seems we have a visitor," followed by everyone looking at me. so i was good and stood and introduced myself to the whole crew. multiple people told me how nice it was to have a young person there. i plan on going back to service there. i just wish it wasn't so much of a drive, at least the service starts at 11 am.
this weekend, before i went to church, we had a beer tasting party at our house, haha. there were 27 different beers to sample. so lots of people at the house ("the hotel"). it was super fun, and so organized. each person was supposed to bring a 6 pack and 5 of those were put into a pitcher to sample (so we wouldn't know what it was) and the 6th was put into a cooler. whoever wins receives the best ratings overall (we rated whatever we tasted on a paper by the number designated to that beer) will get everyone's 6th beer, so one of each beer sampled. pretty cool. pretty cool to taste 27 beers in one night. the samples were pretty small though since there were over 30 people there. a lot of people brought friends and i hung out with a nice boulder-ite for a good stretch of the night. funny that i may not like the city of boulder a lot, but i always get along super well with anyone from there. i don't know if being a naropa student makes him a true boulder-ite though. he did go by a nature name, interestingly enough. can you do that in real life...keep a nature name? i guess there are no rules in life. i think i need to pick a new sweet nickname for yosemite. hmmm... well, the naropa/nature name combo made me think of pebble a bit (shout out to pebble! woop woop) and how her semester is going. and in the realm of cyp-ness, i got a cyp flyer in the mail for the camp reunion this week. i love getting mail from places i've worked. i so wish i could go and chill with the cyp crowd and see how they're doing. maybe i'll invent an immediate transporting system this week so i can beam myself there. that would be sweet.
shout out to kristoffer and target for fab new sheets for my bed (ok they aren't from the bakery department, but they're super fun!).

We'll be thinking of you at the Reunion! And never fear... there will be tons of pics of you in the slideshow. Do you want me to send you a copy of the slideshow once it's done? There are some pics that campers have sent in that are super awesome.
Anyway, Yosemite sounds amazing! I'm so happy you're loving it! Mary
