Exactly one year after i moved to the North Carolina coast, I once again smell saltiness in the air. This time it is more pungent though and instead of being from the ocean, it comes from the great salt lake in utah. After cutting my foot open on a stick on the beach (k-dawg--i do my best to live up to my name), it felt nice to wash it out in the cool, super salty water. And like a geek, i wished i could test the salinity of the water while i watch my flip-flop floating away. I think a test would only confirm that the water is "super salty." The sunset was way gorgeous over the water with the mountains behind. My mom said the view looked prehistoric and i agree. so why is there not a story of a loch ness monster in the great salt lake? somebody should start one...only since we're in america, the monster should be bigger and better, haha.
